June 26 th ( 25 of 30 paintings

So I think I’ve done 25 counting today’s attempt. It’s more about getting into a habit of creating more days than not. So today is another project in the Sara Cray botanical vol 1. Iris’ are tough to do and draw. I hate to draw attention to the negative of this painting. But I must, because these are the things I need to work on.

1. It’s over worked

2. My liner work needs practice. I used a waterproof pen .4 nib to highlight the structure in this painting.

3. Colors are too 😎 bright needs to be muted more.

The goal of this project was to be very loose, let paint go wherever.

This was the example love it want to aspire to this . Watercolor the more you try to control it the less painterly it will be. My observation over the years.😊

June 25th

Ha I’ve given up trying to post and paint everyday . So instead of 30 paintings it might be 25? The fact that I have begun creating again I’m totally pleased with. I’m having nerve issues in my left hand as well. So trying to give it a rest. Even so I painted this project from Sara cray instruction vol 1. Very pleased with it. Lots of fun,

Ok back on track June 21 (21 of 30 paintings)

So this was just playing with color washes. I know not very artsy, but it’s just what I needed after the last two postings. Lots of painting today for me. So just very light washes from my pallet. Just drew out circles overlapping here and there. Glazed over circle previously painted and dried just to see. Could I keep the was even? How did the glaze on top change the color? Just fun and simple idea. Have a great first day of summer!

My set up today , beautiful relaxing day to sit and paint away.

June 20 (20 of 30 catching up)

So for number 20 all wet in wet. Not sure if I like it ,it probably needs more work on it. It’s a dreamy landscape of a lake and mountains. From my imagination 😜
